Summary

Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President of Marketing will develop and manage strategies and initiatives for all areas of marketing including product marketing, channel marketing, and market communications.  As a member of the company’s executive team, The VP of Marketing will develop and implement business plans, strategies and tactics to attain corporate objectives.  This position requires a strong leader with a focus on execution.  The VP of Marketing is responsible for all global marketing activities.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Oversee staff to manage product lifecycle issues, including product launches, competitive analysis, forecasting, pricing and end-of-life communications.
  • Develop the company’s marketing communications and brand strategy and manage the corresponding plans and initiatives through subordinate staff.
  • Monitor, develop and manage the company’s pricing strategies to ensure consistency with market realities and to maximize the company’s profitability.
  • Oversee development of print and electronic advertising programs that are consistent with the company’s marketing strategy.
  • Participate in strategic planning and development of the company’s annual operating and long term plans.
  • Manage the Marketing team, including Product Marketing, Marketing Communications, Trade Show/Event management, and Channel Marketing, in the execution of their job responsibilities with a focus on achieving financial goals.
  • Work closely with the Regional Sales VPs to provide lead support, sales tools and event planning that facilitate meeting sales targets and objectives.
  • Oversee market research and make recommendations to meet the challenges of competitive pressures.
  • Develop benchmark criteria to measure and analyze the effectiveness of marketing programs.
  • Participate as appropriate in industry events and trade shows, maximizing the opportunity for branding and demand generation. Hold events with customers, partners and prospects to build brand awareness, develop sales prospects and strengthen customer relationships.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the computer products industry (hardware, software, or solutions) – with a successful and progressive track record.
  • Previous experience with high tech product management/marketing is required.
  • Strong experience in CRM database usage and pipeline management.
  • Must have international experience. 
  • Understanding and utilization of social media strategies to drive meaningful awareness and measurable revenue sources
  • Successful co-marketing and leveraged marketing programs through and with channels, partners, resellers.

 

Applicants should have:

  • BS degree in Marketing or equivalent, MBA preferred.
  • Proven ability to interface effectively with Sales, Development, Finance and other functions.
  • Strong ability to engage, motivate, coach and develop a Marketing team.
  • Ability to represent the company externally at a senior executive level.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proven track record of successful implementations of marketing programs.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally (30%+ Travel).
