Contract HR Coordinator – VMware – Austin, TX

The HR Coordinator is a key member of the Shared Services founding team responsible for providing administrative and program support for candidates and employees. This person will be responsible for the daily administration of various processes including answering questions from HR team members, employees and management. This person will be responsible for working cross functionally with other teams including HRIS, Staffing, and Purchasing.

Candidate and New Hire Experience Support (~70-80% of time)

  • Process transactions in the applicant tracking system to open requisitions, route requisitions for approval, update requisitions, close requisitions, etc.
  • Process offer letters including verification of appropriate approvals, data audits, and sending offer packets to candidates
  • Manage signed offer letters and kick off the new hire process including background checks
  • Work with hiring managers to fill “alternative workforce positions” leveraging our contract worker provider. Ensure appropriate approvals are received, data provided to HRIS is accurate, assignment length and status are monitored, and data audits are completed on a periodic basis. Reconcile vendor invoicing for contractors and temps as appropriate
  • Responsible for ensuring 100% data integrity for all position, candidate and employee data processed in various systems. Respond to all corporate data audits in a timely manner
  • Ensure data is accurate on the weekly open requisitions report and coordinate updates with the HRIS Reporting team
  • Provide back-up support for HR Assistant (interview scheduler) as needed

Program and other Support (~20-30% of time)

  • Provide primary support for the Employee Referral Program
  • Provide secondary support for several of the following programs:

o    Relocation and mobility program

o    Education assistance program

o    Candidate experience program

o    Immigration/Ex-Pat program

o    AAP/Diversity program

o    Various Compliance programs

  • Provide other program and administrative support to various HR teams as appropriate

 

Position Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Business or related area preferred
  • 1 yr+ in Staffing or HR Operations a plus
  • Experience with HRIS or Applicant Tracking Systems a plus
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Must thrive in a fast paced environment where multi-tasking and prioritizing is necessary
  • Very strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and time constraints

Contract Java Developer Position in South Austin

We are seeking a contract Java Developer to join us for project work in our Austin, Texas office.

 Job Description:

The Java Developer works in a software product development environment, handling a wide variety of tasks that include:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications
  • Research, request, document and implement features and needed fixes  
  • Interface with software vendors to ensure the smooth deployment of new features and fixes
  • Assess and deploy monitoring resources to meet existing business requirements
  • Work closely with research and development teams
  • Work with the development team to plan, perform, and maintain routine product modifications, enhancements, and upgrades
  • Requirements gathering through communication with internal and external clients
  • Application Management – monitor logs and troubleshooting of existing applications
  • Other tasks as required

 Job Requirements:

The Java Developer must have the ability to debug operating system, tomcat, java, and MySQL issues and be familiar with monitoring tools in Linux and 3rd party monitoring applications.  The Java Developer must also be competent with:

  • Java
  • J2EE
  • Servlet development
  • XML parsing, UI presentation layer experience
  • Linux (bash, rsync, cygwin)
  • Apache
  • Apache Tomcat
  • MySQL (InnoDB)
  • Eclipse IDE
  • SVN
  • PGP/AES encryption

  • LAMP developing environment

The Java Developer should complete required tasks independently and with minimum support from management staff and have strong abilities to grasp new technologies and acquire new skills through independent study and interaction with other team members.

Required Skills:

  • BS/BA (Master’s degree preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, MIS or relevant technology degree (or relevant work experience of 7+ years in similar environment)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Must be able to execute all tasks with exceptional attention to detail
  • Must have ability and desire to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and be able to handle several projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Must possess excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
